![]() ![]() This book had me hooked the first 'chapter' in it's been the only book to terrify me within the first opening sequence. Definitely a great addition to any library where teen readers like good science fiction. I got the book at 3 yesterday and was done six hours later. The world building, character chemistry and challenges they face make of one great space tale. It takes a wary meeting between Tuck and Laura after everything has become utter chaos, in order for anyone to have a chance of surviving. She's extremely smart, but has been sabotaged in a pretty nasty fashion. Among those on that ship is Laura Cruz, daughter of the two leading archaeologists. ![]() However, the exploration ship has a saboteur on board who creates a complete disaster. Not long after Tuck and the other survivors are embroiled in battle with the monsters, another ship, carrying scientists and archaeologists from post apocalypse Earth discovers them and is about to come alongside to explore for artifacts and something desperately needed to revive Earth. Imagine waking up after 400 years in suspended animation, only to discover your ship is derelict and those who survived the suspension are threatened by three different mutants, all former crew members who were poisoned by earthly pollutants. ![]() This is possibly the best book I've read in months and I read close to a book a day. ![]()
